We are currently supporting their recruitment for a CMM Operative (Level 1) to join their successful and fast-growing team on a full time, permanent contract, committed to the night shift. This position is working 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday offering an hourly rate of £13.30 plus 20% shift allowance (£15.96) In the role of CMM Operative, you will prove effective and efficient dimensional, magna mike and wall stock review and reworking of castings using various polishing techniques as required in line with standard operating procedures, work instructions and process parameters to ensure quality standards are achieved in the product to support the current and future business needs. Full in-house training will be offered; however we are looking for a candidate that can show experience of working within casting, automotive, steel manufacturing or aeronautical industries who can understand casting drawing & Limits. CMM Operator main duties: * Demonstrate the competency in training and constantly performs operations, which include: Dimensional rework A Dimensional rework B Dimensional rework C * PMO Solver Spreadsheet * Airfoil profile best fitting * Actively takes part in continuous improvement projects * To fully understand and always comply with the agreed Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s), work instructions and visual aids. * Operate Computer System to input and retrieve data * To understand and work from data sheets to ensure that the correct numbers of the required castings are produced for production schedule. * Monitor the process and recognise any faults or defects with either the process or equipment and report them to supervision * Understanding the materials, how they are manufactured and the impact on the end product * Share knowledge and expertise including training others to improve company products and services * Comply with and support the EHS polices, processes and programmes. * Ensure EHS training is adhered to. * Support the Quality processes and programmes to drive the business performance. CMM Operator desired skills and experience: * Previous experience of working within casting, automotive, steel manufacturing or aeronautical industries * Able to understand casting drawing & Limits * Experience of working with metallic materials which involve using CMM equipment * Preferably understanding of Mitutoyo CMM machines * Experience of linishing metallic materials using dimensional equipment * Experience using air tools * Ability to work under high pressure * Good communication skills * Computer literate An immediate start is available for the successful candidate.
