Title: Chassis Engineer Location: Gaydon Our Chassis Systems team is dedicated to designing and engineering critical components for wheels, brakes, suspension, steering, and more, across all vehicle lines. We are searching for a Chassis Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in the design and development of suspension components, transforming initial concepts into reality, ready for production. Your role demands effective communication, involving regular interactions with internal teams and external partners. You'll be entrusted with delivering chassis components within budget, ensuring they meet performance and manufacturability standards. Key Responsibilities: Design and release front suspension components (Control Arms, Bushes, Suspension Knuckles, etc.). Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and CAD designers in system layouts and component development. Drive the development of performance targets for suspension systems from prototypes to production. Partner with external suppliers and Vehicle Line Managers to ensure high-quality and timely deliveries. Support DFMEAs, quality reviews, robustness studies, DVP, and final engineering sign-offs. Management Breadth: Plan and prioritize your workload to align with department and business goals, with potential opportunities to support other chassis components. Experience & Qualifications: 3+ years of component engineering experience in the automotive sector. Proficiency in VIS Mockup, Teamcenter, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Engineering Quality processes (D-FMEA, 6-sigma, 8D). Engineering degree in a relevant field. Preferred Experience: Suspension component design and delivery. Understanding of manufacturing processes (Casting, Forging, Elastomeric components). Skills Required: Excellent time management and team collaboration skills. Strong communication, adaptable to change, and open to feedback. Travel Requirements: Be prepared for occasional UK and international travel, and inter-site visits during testing and prototype phases.
