About this position: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a CAD Engineer (CATIA V5) to work for bespoke engineering company based in the West Midlands. Job Responsibilities: Catia V5 Expertise: * Utilise Catia V5 software to create complex 3D surface models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for automotive components and products. * Work closely with design and engineering teams to translate conceptual automotive designs into highly detailed and manufacturable models. Collaborate on vehicle exterior and interior surfacing projects, ensuring designs meet quality and performance standards. Tool Design: * Apply expertise to develop tools, moulds, and jigs used in the manufacturing of the companies components. Quality Control: * Perform checks on CAD models and designs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with specifications. * Identify and resolve design issues and discrepancies. Collaboration: * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and Operations teams, to optimise designs and address manufacturing constraints. Documentation: * Create and maintain detailed documentation, including CAD drawings, models, and design specifications. * Assist in the preparation of technical reports and project documentation. Experience Required: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * Proficiency in Catia V5 software, with a strong focus on automotive surfacing. * Demonstrated experience in tool design for automotive applications. * Strong attention to detail and precision in CAD modeling and design. * Knowledge of automotive industry standards and best practices. * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
