CAD Design Engineer – Automotive company Our client is looking for a Permanent CAD Design Engineer to join their Automotive company team. The ideal candidate should have experience in Design Engineer with particular experience skills in "cad" OR "design engineer" OR "design". Knowledge in plastic mouldings or design engineer background in automotive industry is preferred. The key responsibilities of the role: Interpreting customer drawings into sound design concepts. Development of designs from concept through to manufacturing. Design of plastic components and surface texturing, as well as complex assemblies. Design for manufacture, ensuring designs are suitable for delivery. Evaluate the stress for design CAE. Involved in the development of tooling and process innovation. Working with suppliers to ensure best results for components. Creating drawings utilising AutoCad, SolidWorks and similar CAD packages. The successful candidate will have at least three to five years of relevant engineering experience and skills in: Degree level qualification in mechanical engineering or similar. Previous design experience within automotive industry. Strong CAD skills – preferably with AutoCad. A good knowledge of manufacturing processes. Process and product cost analysis.
