CAD Design Engineer Location: Redditch Hours:  Monday – Friday: 8:30am - 17:00pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch) Permanent Salary: £35,000 per annum Holiday Entitlement: 33-days (inclusive of bank holidays) Are you a talented CAD Design Engineer seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact in a small business environment? If yes, look no further! We are currently looking for a passionate individual to join our client’s team as a CAD Design Engineer. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will play a vital role in the expansion of their product portfolio through innovative CAD design and technical drawing production. Responsibilities of the CAD Design Engineer: Use the available CAD software to design and develop new products to expand the company’s portfolio. Design any associated engineering equipment such as assembly jigs and fixtures, test equipment and inspection equipment. Produce associated engineering data including 3D model files, PDF technical drawing files and CAD data files such as STP and DXF files for all components and assemblies. Specify and produce prototypes using the in-house FDM 3D printer and external SLS/SLA print bureau. Maintain existing CAD data and update legacy data to ensure compatibility with current CAD systems. Respond to Engineering Change Requests and issue Change Notifications whenever drawings and engineering data are updated, maintain records of drawing revision changes. Produce drawing files for use in production of programs for production machinery and equipment such as CNC router and laser engraving machines, assist in the creation of programs for the production equipment the available CAM software. Aside from the main duties described herein you will be expected to support the Technical Director in any other duties as and when required by him. Requirements for the ideal CAD Design Engineer: Be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess good computer skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD software, with experience in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD LT. Have the ability to communicate effectively with team members, company directors, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Be able contribute to the continuous improvement of productivity by identifying efficiencies and improvements within your area of expertise.
