Business Development Manager (Automotive / Yellow) - Hybrid (England) In support of an established SME UK based manufacturing Group, a NEW Business Development Manager is required to identify new customers / clients and work alongside the business to support the successful winning of business with these new relationships as well as continue to develop the existing key account base. Ideally based (hybrid) centrally in England due to the positioning of their 3 Group sites, you should have an engineering background where possible with knowledge of precision metallics pressing, assemblies, laser cutting and tool manufacturing or similar. The Business Development Manager will be targeted on growth of sales across a range of core engineering sectors including automotive and yellow goods. Specifically, you will be identifying and securing qualified added value work which is manufactured to customer design and specification. In addition, the Business Development Manager will: Identify and deliver new business opportunities through client and sector knowledge, networking and other channels to achieve agreed targets. Work with existing internal teams to support current and future new business generation demands. Ensure that all new work fits within the strategic goals and capabilities and is at the right complexity and margin levels. Support the successful and accurate estimating, quoting and winning of new sales. Work with existing customers to support future business growth as well as maintain key account relationships. Work closely with the engineering and operational teams across the Group to ensure accurate business project development success. Manage and use internal CRM and sales/estimation systems. Represent the Company at trade exhibitions and shows in known and unknow relating sectors. Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development. Report monthly to the senior management team. Support future international strategic customer development as required. To support this role, you will need: Knowledge of precision engineering and manufacturing capabilities to a good level Knowledge of these core relating sectors, OEM’s and supply chains Experience in a relating commercially focused BD role Experience in estimating (with use of existing spreadsheet-based tools), quoting and bid development Ability to think critically and creatively to identify prospective sales opportunities Sales experience with a drive to target and secure new business Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of executive summary reports and presentations Excellent planning and organisational skills Experience at building relationships, negotiating and influencing Ability to accurately report on sales pipeline To be able to travel as required This is an ideal position for a generally experienced and ‘sector aware’ Business Development Manager to support this existing manufacturing business Group to grow further.
