The services they provide are innovative, intelligent and evolving rapidly THE ROLE The Bid Manager is fundamental to the success of winning new customers and retaining existing ones. Key aspects include articulating our client’s proposition in Bids and tenders in a creative and compelling manner through a variety of different media. Key responsibilities: * Work with groups of subject matter experts in the business to develop market-leading bids, tenders and proposals to acquire new customers and retain existing accounts that support the achievement of annual and longer-term sales budgets. * Produce outstanding content, and edit and rewrite copy from other departments, proof-read, and produce documents for final submission in a variety of formats. * Responsible for owning and developing a structured process for responding to requests for bids and proposals. * Develop relevant internal and external stakeholder relationships that support the new business acquisition strategy * Proactively seek to input into, or create where possible, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) on behalf of customers or prospects. * Proactively identify opportunities for bids and tenders including reviewing all appropriate industry tender announcements and online portals, presenting those for approval that meet the strategy of the business. * Manage the cost of bids and tenders to maximise resources, value for money and required cost to revenue ratio. * Develop and maintain a central library of presentations that professionally promotes products and services, and supports the ‘compelling sell’ approach, using best in class presentation tools and techniques. THE PERSON Skills, Knowledge and Experience: * Passionate about sales with a flair for promoting USP’s, and developing creative and innovative proposals * Thorough knowledge of a range of bid and tendering processes from highly formalised to those with minimal structure and the ability to react effectively in a manner that maximises the chances of success * Experience in building multi-level stakeholder relationships within larger corporate organisations * Creative marketing or graphic design experience of bringing solutions to life in a powerful way visually * Understanding of successful project management, ideally within a B2B environment * Appreciation of relevant legislative and regulatory rules, requirements and influences, including GDPR. * Experience of delivering high quality bids and proposals within budgetary constraints * Confidence in presenting complex business propositions to senior management level, ideally within the automotive or risk management and training industry * Minimum of 3 years’ experience within project or marketing-based role ideally within a B2B environment WORKING PATTERN * Dynamic working - in office typically 2 days per week.
