Mane are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operator for our Aerospace client based in Bedfordshire. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Assembly Operator to manufacture and weld precision assemblies in line with aerospace standards. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will use a variety of welding and assembly techniques to produce high-quality components to specification. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Core Responsibilities Assemble and weld components using resistance and seam welding machines to customer specifications, working with various metals including stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel. Operate automated TIG welding machines to meet specific job requirements. Form and trim bellows using fully automated, semi-automated, and manual forming machines. Liaise with the laboratory to ensure appropriate weld testing and compliance. Interpret and work from engineering drawings and route cards. Obtain and maintain Operator Verification Approval (OVA) stamps. Adhere to established quality and efficiency standards. Contribute to the development of improved working methods and techniques. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company housekeeping standards. Suggest and support cost-saving and productivity-enhancing initiatives. Follow relevant AWPS (Aerospace Work Process Sheets) and operating procedures. Comply with Health & Safety and Fire regulations, attending mandatory training as required. Demonstrate a flexible and cooperative attitude to support team goals. Person Specification Essential Experience & Skills Ability to meet production targets and support team objectives. Competence in following detailed written and verbal instructions. Understanding of and adherence to company procedures and standards. Strong team player with proven collaborative work experience. Desirable Experience & Skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Familiarity with weld data cards and specifications. Proficient in using measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Experience operating a lathe. Previous aerospace industry experience. Operator Verification experience. Shift Details Late Shift: Hours: Monday to Thursday, 3:45 PM - 1:30 AM
