Semi Skilled Assembler / Assembly Operator 📍 Basildon We are currently recruiting a Semi Skilled Assembler / Assembly Operatorto join our manufacturing team at our Basildon site. within a high-quality, precision-driven manufacturing environment. MUST HAVE an engineering backgroud Salary 💷 £16.49 per hour Working Hours * Monday – Thursday: 7:00am to 16:00pm * Friday: 07:30am to 12:30pm Benefits Package * Competitive salary * Overtime: x 1.5 Monday to Saturday and x 2 on Sundays * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards * Christmas shutdown Purpose of role and key accountabilities: To carry out assembly of aircraft components to customer defined specification and standard. Core skills/attributes needed: * Ability to work on assembly of new parts with solid rivets using hand & air riveting tools & other equipment for the purpose required. * Visual inspection of completed products * Full knowledge and experience of using Vernier’s and other specialist measuring tools • Experience of working to adjust sheet metal parts for assembly * Current experience of the use of air tools i.e. drills / rivet press / rivet guns * Experience of using sealants * Engineering background ideally in aerospace industry * Experience of reading, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications * Experience of working with a number of different materials and finishes * Attention to detail * Problem solving skills * Utilising a range of hand tools * Finish precision engineering products Measurable performance indicators/objectives of role: • Quality standards • Output targets • Flexibility to undertake a range of activities • Maintenance of health and safety/housekeeping standards within the team to required standard The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; ➢ Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards in order to provide a safe working environment for all ➢ Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure the delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance ➢ Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company in order to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders Page 2 of 2 ➢ Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets ➢ People: support organisational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community PLEASE NOTE: This role is subject to UK security clearance requirements due to work carried out in support of the UK Ministry of Defence.
