Assembly Operative Sheffield Aerospace £33,471 plus extensive benefits and regular overtime availability Assembly Operative required for immediate start on a permanent basis. The position would suit someone confident with use of hand tools, power tools, use of sling / overhead crane, who likes working in a friendly team within a clean and modern manufacturing facility – where there is a place for everything and everything in its place. A positive can-do attitude is required to fit in with this down-to-earth engineering company where the environment is supportive, yet standards are extremely high. Duties will involve but not be restricted to; * Perform assembly operations by use of hand riveting and planishing * Perform riveting operations * Perform drilling operations * Abrade and final finish assemblies * Use hand and air powered tools * Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards) * Interpret drawings * Work meticulously to work instructions and procedures * Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance requirements Position requirements * Experience with sheet metal components & hand tools is essential * Previous Assembly operative experience is essential * Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) * Experience of working to production targets * Able to work to production targets and deadlines. * Ability to understand and interpret drawings. * Keen eye for detail. * Excellent team work ethic. * High level of accuracy.
