Copello are working with a Air Traffic Management company, who are recruiting for a Airport Operational Engineer to join them on a permanent basis across multiple locations the UK. Key responsibilities include; * To tactically manage the daily operational services at their respective airport whilst on shift and ensure the services are delivered to the customers. * Forward plan and carry out planned and corrective maintenance, prioritising all tasks to ensure they are carried out in a timely manner, in compliance with Maintenance schedules, service level agreements and local procedures. * To liaise with other staff, remain up to date with the content of the Watch Log and the status of the operation and ATS systems to ensure the safe and smooth running of the operation. * Use of engineering stores and test equipment in accordance with local and regional procedures. * Monitor system performance to plan for maintenance and repair. * Progress appropriate engineering tasks and projects as required. * To continue to maintain a broad knowledge of all technology and systems deployed at airports. * To drive company vehicles both on public roads and on airfields. * On-going compliance with local airport procedures, potentially across multiple airports. * Carry out installation of ATS equipment and/or supervision of contractors installing, maintaining or repairing equipment at airports within the defined Cluster. Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities * Professional engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate (NVQ Level 4) as a minimum in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science and relevant operational experience. * Specific competency in ATC systems and equipment, plus experience in maintenance engineering on this equipment. * In depth knowledge and experience of the systems at airports and remote sites together with an understanding of the impact that these systems may have on ATC operations and how they interrelate within the operational environment. * Must be able to prioritise actions under pressure, be technically competent to work on a wide range of equipment and have a logical approach to problem solving. * Must be the holder of a full UK driving licence. * Possess commercial awareness in order to appreciate what impact a facility failure would have on our customers and have a good understanding of internal relationships and dependencies on the ATM engineering systems which they are responsible for.
