Aircraft Technician - Permanent Braintree, Essex Monday to Thursday: 8.15am to 5.10pm and Friday: 8.15am to 4.00pm Experience within the aerospace or automotive industry is desirable Job purpose Providing key support to the workshops to ensure that the company's process objectives are met, and to ensure requirements regarding the qualification, maintenance and calibration of workshop tooling and test benches are maintained. Being an active part of the Engineering department to support the management and review of maintenance documentation and development for new repair capabilities. To manage the qualification, maintenance and calibration of tools & test benches. To manage the review and implementation of maintenance documentation. To support the industrialisation development for new repair capabilities in repair stations.Duties and Standards: Completing the process for identifying and validating and approval and release for service all new specific means necessary to repair equipment including tooling, test benches and other consumables in line with requirements set out in maintenance documentation. Managing all new specific chemicals according to the requirements of maintenance documentation in line with the Companies HSE rules about the validation, approval and release of chemicals. Ensuring that the validation process is followed for all existing and new chemicals. Performing testing with Golden Unit's, first calibration, and correlation with technical specifications. Manage calibration of all calibrated tools with external vendors, ensuring tools calibration is maintained. Review the new release of maintenance documentation (CMM, SB, SiL, FP…), to list all technical changes - new means to purchase for the workshop, new repair process requiring training, new piece parts to purchase to perform modification Collect documentation discrepancies in maintenance documentation and follow up as necessary until completion of appropriate corrective action. Support the local engineering developments, through the review of the maintenance documentation, record and approval of the new specific means to set up in the workshop Release mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings to design new specific tools in accordance with the OEM specifications to improve ergonomics and/or to reduce the time of some specific repair process Define and write new repair documents, in coordination with the OEM to improve the reliability of specific repair processes Implement all procedures written and approved concerning the management of tools, documentation review and repair instructions Additional Responsibilities: Support training for technicians in coordination with the OEM for new test benches, specific tools and/or specific repair processes. Justify and approve tooling equivalence as necessary Ensure a full understanding of the risks in the workplace Take action to ensure your and your colleague's safety at all times Report all accidents and near misses and participate fully in any investigations Share ideas for improvement with the Engineering departmentBeneficial skills & requirements Knowledge of MS Office application. Knowledge of sql/html/css/javascript/vb apps. Knowledge of calibration and it's requirements to ISO standards. Knowledge of specialized tools and their identification. Knowledge of EC/ISO9100 or ISO9001 Knowledge of CGA/CFR/Dot regulations Knowledge of CMM/SB/SIL/ aviation documentation Knowledge of QA/CAPA/Audits/RCA/Lean engineering
