Red Sky have an exciting opportunity at Heathrow Airport for an Aircraft Painter. You will be responsible for carrying out paint repairs and touch ups on aircrafts interior. Duties * Prepares for painting by masking, stripping, washing aircraft sections and components. Blends and mixes paints, inks, and coatings to proper spraying consistency and aircraft specification. * Responsible for maintaining their equipment between jobs and ensuring they are ready for the next task. They make repairs to old paint jobs using colour-matching software and appropriate touch-up paints and finishes. * Adherence to all EASA regulations, company procedures, airport regulations, including Health & Safety * Applies coating filling compounds per aircraft specification. * Clears any spots and defects. Applies touch up if required. Inspects base colour coat before applying metallic clear colour application Prepares and applies topcoat application with little or no direction, * Buffs and polishes for final finish using proper abrasives. * Removes pull tapes and masking tape material after paint prep stage is completed. * Inspects aircraft for any defects, discoloration, spots, and touch up as needed. * Maintains and cleans an organized work area * Ability to complete form 1/ Part145 paperwork and will ensure proper use of all personal protective clothing and equipment as required and provided. Essential * Ability to read, understand and interpret engineer coating drawings, customer option selections solutions, and placard installations (interior, exterior, and wheel well). * Detail oriented. * Familiar with Hazardous and self-verification processes applicable to chemicals such as Alodine, Alodine PH, MEK and solvent usage. * Must work under own initiative and be able to plan workloads and prioritize. * Ability to follow instructions. * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. * PC/Tablet Knowledge * Diploma or equivalent * 5years + related experience in aircraft paint * SSPC Certification strongly preferred * Advance paint mixing knowledge and abilities to colour blend and colour match * Spot paint repair inspections * Current human factors, EWIS and FTS papers desirable.
