Aircraft Cleaners provide a variety of professional cleaning services to ensure aircraft are well presented for passenger’s in-between flights. Responsibilities The main duties of a Deep Aircraft Cleaner will include but are not limited to: • Vacuuming and shampooing the carpets • Cleaning the aircraft washrooms and replenishing toiletries • Removing and disposing of waste, clearing litter • Cleaning interior surfaces • Carrying out security checks on the aircraft as required Person Specification • No experience is necessary, however ideally you would have commercial cleaning experience • Knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies and COSHH would be preferred • Be flexible with working hours (able to workdays, nights & weekends) • Must be hardworking & reliable with an excellent work ethic • Have no unspent criminal convictions Requirements Due to the location of work being at the airport you must qualify to be able to obtain an airside pass. Therefore, we need the following information from you: • 5-year checkable history (employment, self-employment, education or benefit claim) • 5-year UK address history • Valid photo ID (Driving licence accepted for British citizens) • If you are successful at interview, you will be CRB checked • Full UK Driving Licence Health & Safety • You are required to complete a Security exam and therefore need to display you understand Health & Safety practices; therefore, you will need to demonstrate you have a good understanding and communicate clearly in both written and verbal English. • There is an element of manual handling of materials including pushing and pulling of equipment. You will need to be physically fit and able to carry out this role; the Airport is a large environment and you will often be required to walk long distances between workstations • As a minimum, you will be required to wear safety footwear and a hi-vis vest whilst on shift • You will be working within confined spaces on an Aircraft and therefore you need to be aware of the limited space and positioning of work and where it’s to be carried out.
