Job Role:       HGV Technician Location:       Barnstaple Pay:                £40,000 - £48,000 dependant on skills, experience and qualifications Hours:            40 or 45 hrs per week Shift:              Days (4 or 5 day shifts available) Contract:       Full time Permanent role Benefits         23 days holiday + all bank holidays, overtime paid at 1.5 X – 2 X (plenty available) , pension, free parking, excellent ongoing training, uniform, monthly tool allowance + on call allowance HGV Technician opportunity My client, a well-established commercial vehicle contract hire company is actively seeing to employ 2 additional experienced (qualified or time served) HGV Technicians for their depot in Barnstaple due to expansion and increased workloads. You will be responsible for working on multi fleets of commercial vehicles predominately DAF, Volvo, Ford and Mercedes (anything from vans to articulated trucks).   Able to offer a variety of shift patterns such as Monday-Friday days, Monday-Thursday days or Tuesday-Friday days and will look at both HGV or Van Technicians. Saturday mornings (7am-12pm) are covered on a rota basis (currently 1 in 3) along with being on call   HGV Technician duties Working in a well-equipped workshop, the successful HGV Technician will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle service, maintenance, repair, diagnostics and pre MOT prep Repairs and inspections on vans and HGV’s Duties range from correction of running defects to full vehicle overhauls, diagnostics and everything in between. You will also be required to undertake inspections and pre-MOT checks and undertake any repairs that are required.  HGV Technician qualifications / experience required In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Technician will ideally have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time served You should have experience as an HGV or Van Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
