The Role: The Weight Management Function is part of the Energy Management Department and is at the forefront of delivering vehicle performance, efficiency and sustainability. The Weight Management Function works cross functionally from concept, through design and development, to certification in order to manage the weight of all the clients and deliver product targets. The role of the Weight Management department is highly varied and interfaces with a wide range of stakeholders across the business; all aspects and stages of weight management will be undertaken. Contractor Deliverables Include: o Contributing to setting and delivering whole vehicle weight targets utilising sound engineering knowledge, lightweight technology trends, BoM weight roll ups and vehicle/part measurement. o Planning and managing programmes to develop vehicles and achieve performance targets as well as problem resolution activities, working in close cooperation with other functions to ensure achievement of weight targets. o Weight calculation using a variety of methods and data sources; from conceptual analysis to vehicle/part measurement, fulfilling certification requirements as well as development of weight management processes to maximise efficiency of the department. o Contributing to the calculation of certification weights for cross functional agreement, based on multiple data sources and relevant legislation o Constructively challenging & influencing engineering departments to deliver targets o Competitor benchmarking (including technologies used) and attribute target setting The Company: Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over.
