Remit are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of SsangYong UK Ltd for someone looking to develop a career in warehousing / parts to join their team based in Swindon SN3. You will be working in the after sales warehouse and undertake a Supply Chain Level 2 apprenticeship, which is 13 months duration.
This role will suit someone who is looking to start a career in either warehousing, logistics or the automotive sector.
Tasks will include:
• Picking orders, keeping records of goods out, preparing despatch notes, labels, and manifests
• Loading and unloading delivery vans and lorries
• Checking correct quantities and type of goods received
• Recording any damaged, missing, or faulty products, preparing and submitting claims
• Moving goods to correct areas in warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment, incl. pallet stacker and forklift truck
• Barcoding parts and allocating storage spaces
• Relocating and restocking goods
• Reporting for reordering when stock gets low
• Responding to and dealing with internal, external communication by email, telephone and in person
• Supporting and cooperating with all internal company departments, developing very good relationship with these
• Complying with health, safety, and security procedures
• Maintaining the Warehouse in a tidy state and clearing away packaging material and debris
• Having clear understanding of the company’s polices and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
Ad-hoc duties – willingness to assist others during busy periods

Pay will rise to £9.50 ph on completion of the apprenticeship

Good oral and written communication skills. Good attention to details, especially if it comes to numbers and quality checks Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
English and Maths GCSE Grades 5-9 / D and above
As part of the apprentice role, you will be carrying out tasks such as picking and packing, moving stock around, maintaining stock records, receiving deliveries and cleaning. You will be checking stock for damages and will be loading goods ready for delivery. You will learn how to safely use a variety of machinery, equipment and potentially vehicles that are common to a warehouse environment. You will learn the essential health and safety policies and procedures involved in the warehouse industry and will also develop key interpersonal skills as you will be required to communicate with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally. As a result, you will receive the following qualification: Functional Skills in English & Maths Level 1 and upskill to Level 2
