This is a newly created, key opportunity for an experienced test development manager / team leader to join a successful and expanding electrified propulsion systems company near Leamington Spa. The company is involved with the design, development and test of drivetrain systems for automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, marine, aerospace and Defence clients around the world. This test development manager / team leader role will involve: * Leading and developing a small team of test development engineers * Resource management both internally and externally, workload allocation and resolving resource constraints * Definition, development, planning and implementation of tests and test equipment for a range of client products - Transmissions, eMotors, power electronics etc * The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP and DFMEAs * Working collaboratively with managers and product development teams across the business and at client sites when required. * Driving product development SOPs in line with product quality standards Hands-on experience of testing transmission systems, electric motors, power electronics or other rotating machinery would be a distinct advantage as would the technical leading or managing of small teams of test engineers. Skills / Knowledge- Test Development Manager * Extensive experience with the definition, development, planning and implementation of tests for drivetrain systems or similar – transmissions, engines, motors, gears, brakes, turbines, aeroengines, highspeed actuators etc. * Experience of leading and developing small teams of test development engineers * The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP and DFMEAs * Ideally a degree or similar in a relevant subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, etc) * Knowledge of the build and commissioning of test systems/rigs and analysis of test data (e.g. motor controller / inverter etc) * Able to work effectively in a fast paced, small company environment in conjunction with test engineers, product engineering and R&D teams * Able to ensure that Test Requests / Process are understood, achievable and delivered * Able to produce test reports, test data and support validation activities at project meetings with clients This Lead Test Development Engineer opening is commutable from Warwick, Banbury, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Birmingham, Rugby, Northampton, Leicester, Worcester etc
