The Role To join the Passenger Services team in Birmingham for 25 hours a week as a Term Time Only Minibus Driver. The post holder will provide professional and high-quality care, collecting children with additional needs from their homes and transporting them to and from school. The post holder will drive a minibus in accordance with the law, demonstrating a commitment to the comfort and safety of passengers whilst showing consideration for other road users. Main Responsibilities:  To ensure passengers are embarked, carried and disembarked safely. That appropriate seat belts and when required child seats are used at all times the vehicle is in motion and that any wheelchairs, frames, oxygen cylinders, luggage and goods are properly and safely restrained. • To collect children with additional needs from their homes and safely transport them to and from school. • To provide excellent customer service and the highest standard of care and consideration in transporting our passengers in a safe and responsible manner. • To provide cover for passenger assistants as required • To be responsible for meeting the legal requirements of Road Traffic Regulations, Construction and Use Regulations, and use of tachographs (where relevant) and all other aspects of Road Transport legislation. • To ensure that vehicles are cleaned on a regular basis (inside and out), kept free of debris with clamps and straps stowed away when not in use. • To ensure all Community Transport’s requirements for drivers in relation to vehicle maintenance, safety, fare collection and data recording are met. • To attend training courses as appropriate for the improvement of the service, including assessment and training to MiDAS standards. • To ensure vehicles run to schedules, as identified. To ensure the correct completion of paperwork appertaining to each trip is undertaken within the working day. What you can expect when working for CT:  1. A full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement and a maximum of 3 penalty points  2. Experience of driving larger vehicles  3. Experience of transporting people or experience of  providing care and support to individuals in a health  or social care setting  4. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check  5. A caring and compassionate nature  6. Excellent communication skills  7. Resilience and the ability to work under pressure  8. Flexibility to meet the needs of the business and a willingness to work unsociable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
