Supervisor - Manufacturing, Norwich, Norfolk  Role purpose * To manage, motivate and organise the business's production with the most efficient use of resources. * Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to and product quality meets the customer demands. * Help achieve the Production, Performance Indicators and KPI's. Drive the business forward, making improvements and efficiency manage use of machines/equipment/processes ensuing Lotus can support both the business and other 3rd party customer requirements, securing future growth and prosperity. What is expected to be delivered? * Organise the week and day to day activities to achieve the plan in the production area and ensure resources are available to achieve the MPS/ production requirements * Maintaining quality - ensuring process adherence * Disposition of components & product - rework, returns & scrap * Communicating effectively with Team such as briefing meetings, appraisals etc. * Develop and support continuous improvement activities through team working, people and process, measuring and reporting. * Ensure safe standardisation of operations * Ensure equipment used is in a safe manner including PPE, e.g. safety shoes, glasses, helmets. Set an example.  * Assist in accident investigation, safety audits, risk assessment, job safety analysis etc. * Ensure environmental procedures are adhered to, including waste segregation, scrap, storage and disposal of chemicals.  * Discipline and attendance management through keeping in touch/return to work interviews and informal/formal discussions * Production team communication, team meetings * Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance through regular training record reviews and appraisals  * Develop individual competence to ensure maximum flexibility within the team * Assist with recruitment of production team - selection/interviews/appointments * Carry out induction and training of new/ temporary and transferring employees * Ensure all Lotus policies and procedures are upheld  This job role is not an exhaustive list, and the job incumbent will be expected to undertake any other duties as the requirements arises, within his/her capability. This includes training and development activities. Essential * Good understanding of English language required to follow written and verbal instructions * Experience in manufacturing environment with strong CNC setting and programming knowledge  * Computer literate. Numerate with ability to read and understand written instructions/documentation. Ability to work under pressure.  * Supervisory/man-management experience * Honest, trustworthy, flexible, proactive, enthusiastic and able to communicate well with others * Basic employment law and HSE law knowledge Team skills Desirable * NVQ level 4 in Supervisory Management or equivalent in an or other appropriate subject. Knowledge of, or units in Business Improvement Techniques * Experience in people management. Good understanding of cellular manufacturing including J.I.T, Kanban and Continuous Improvement , 8D * Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts optimal effort in successfully completing tasks. Analytical and problem solving skills, decision making and taking initiative  * Time served/experienced supervisory/management background * Highly motivated self-starter who take initiative. Good attention to detail and willing to learn new skills * Listening skills. Assertiveness.
