Storeperson/inventory Controller

Our prestigious client based in Desborough, Kettering are looking for a Storeperson/Inventory Controller Job Summary To implement and maintain an effective, optimal and safe stores management system. To receive, inspect, store, issue and record the traceability of all raw materials, fluids, equipment, spares, tools, PPE, consumables, and client provided materials on the site. Handle and store all materials and equipment in compliance with the requirements set out in datasheets, specifications or dictated by legislation e.g. Health & Safety To take responsibility for inventory control, stock takes and stock valuation. Main responsibilities Goods Inward Receipt of deliveries to site, including notification of deliveries to other functions. Liaison with QC function for goods receipt inspections. To ensure that all goods received are correctly labelled and stored in the appropriate area. Responsibility for booking goods received accurately onto ERP system in a timely manner. Reporting of any discrepancies, errors or problems with good received to relevant parties. Ensure goods in documentation is checked and filed correctly. Day to day organisation of a goods received quarantine area. Stock Control Monitor stock against agreed inventory levels and re-order as required Organise regular stock counts and reconcile against ERP inventory Run and check regular inventory reports and investigate any discrepancies. Take responsibility for the year end stock take including liaison with Auditors. Ensure stock is kept secure and report any unauthorised issuing of stock Ensure stock items have appropriate codes, accurate prices and correct UOM. Ensure full traceability of all stored materials/items Monitor and manage consignment stock Materials Issue Issue materials for production per daily work list (picklist) Ensure issues are accurately and promptly entered onto ERP system Use stores requisition system and keep records Drive Forklift Trucks Deliver materials/equipment/items to shop floor/work areas as required Run regular reports to check for any non- issued items QHS&E Participate in safety tours, risk assessments, environmental impact assessments and audits on main stores activities and work areas General FLT and company vehicles (van/s) daily checks e.g. tyres, oil, water, lights, horn Report FLT damage or property damage caused by FLT/s Respond to telephone calls to the stores Provide counter service for personnel calling in at stores to collect items Apply company rules, respect and apply safety rules Operate FLT and company vehicles in accordance with Company rules and legal requirements To carry out any other duties within the job-holder’s capability , including transferring to other work when reasonably requested by line management. Skills: Experience in a stores/warehouse environment and experience in operating a computerised stores management system. Knowledge of stores management techniques and systems, particularly in a project manufacturing environment Strong experience of inventory management and stock counting Commercial awareness of the importance of stock control and allocation within the business. IT skills (MS Excel essential, need to be completely comfortable with ERP/MRP would also be an advantage, Email essential) An ability to work in a logical, tidy and structured manner, keeping excellent records and a disciplined approach to data management and filing Knowledge of COSHH datasheet and hazardous materials handling High level of integrity and professionalism Ability to take the initiative Committed and dedicated to assigned activities by the company Forklift driving license Full driving license Trained in Crane operation advantageous
