Senior Project Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to work for a growing composites engineering specialist in South Oxfordshire. This is a permanent position with an initial guide salary of £50,000 although this could flex either way depending on level of experience. Main Purpose To manage and support enquiries through to delivery for Prototype and Serial projects, providing organisation, technical support, and process documentation to ensure delivery requirements are met and maintained. The key areas of responsibility and accountability in the role are: • Good understanding of composites materials to be able to provide customer quotation. • Obtain quotations for outsourced tools and materials. • Administrate Purchase order (internal and external), works order, work description and delivery note documents through ERP system. • Support senior management on acquisition of new projects and provide point of contact for communications with customers on running projects. • Able to read drawings and produce them. • Thorough understanding of composites manufacturing process in order to successfully project manage different projects. • Managing projects independently within the agreed “program” and reporting progress throughout project cycle. • Manage aerospace projects within the required Quality Management System AS9100 and train Junior Project Engineers to the Standard. • Provide project controlling reports on regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) for his running projects Additional Requirements: • Minimum of ten years project management experience. • MRP / ERP experience – Progress Plus experience preferable. • Read and understand technical drawings. • Assist with maximising productivity where possible. • Assist with continual improvements on all projects. Person Profile • Composites manufacturing background a must. • Masters or bachelor’s degree in engineering required. • Proven knowledge of composites materials and tooling (10+ ideally). • Confident and influential communicator at subordinate and peer level. • Good operational and organisational skills. • Flexible with extra working hours. • Experience in aerospace (necessary)
