Job Requirements Senior Manager – Airfield Operations Are you a motivational leader with a passion for aviation who is looking to Grow with Gatwick? ​​​​​​​​​We're looking for a Senior Manager – Airfield Operations who can guide and support the team's focus on safety, service and performance across the Airfield infrastructure and Airspace.    What is the role? You will be guiding the Aerodromes team, managing the delivery of Aerodrome certification standards. Ensuring that all risks to the airfield, aircraft and those operating within are suitably managed with regulatory tasks being undertaken and recorded appropriately. As a dynamic leader, you will be a role model to the team, maintaining a consistent focus on coaching and developing to support progression and succession planning. You'll be building relationships with the Air Traffic provider, our business partners and third parties whilst having a collaborative focus on delivering a safe and efficient operation. What will you do? Ensure the safe and consistent delivery of operational, compliance, safety, on time and runway capacity performance. Executing in accordance with the Aerodrome manual and necessary regulations. Maintaining performance across wider airfield operations including On Time Performance, wildlife management and disruption Developing relationships to facilitate collaborative working across wider GAL functions, Influencing stakeholders to achieve KPIs and maintain engagement Deliver exceptional EHS standards reporting and conducting post event reviews for occurrences delivering improvement plans and a pro-active safety culture Accountable for the contractual management and operational delivery and performance of the Air Navigation Service Provider. Responsible for ensuring availability and high standards of infrastructure to support a smooth aircraft operation. Managing access for all parties as required. Robust delivery of airfield operations in all aspects of airfield emergency orders, winter operations and disruptive events. Develop your people and wider team in technical competence, leadership and behavioural skills, ensure the department works as a team across shifts and functions. Drive an open, honest and just culture and ensure Gatwick operates beyond compliance. Do you have what we're looking for? Knowledge and experience in guiding a large safety and regulatory focused operational setting Excellent understanding of aviation in particular airport operation and development Ability to design and implement commercial strategies Experienced in the management of 3rd party service providers, including the commercial negotiation Experienced in delivery of high complexity program of works, prioritising and influencing as required Strong investigative and numerical skills Strategic thinker, with creativity and the ability to see and resolve problems Strong leader able to motivate and engage Resilient, able to deal with multiple situations and always looking to exceed targets Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams Degree level education or equivalent experience in an operational leadership role About working here  Our people tell us that working here is something special.
