We are currently recruiting for an Roadside Mechanic Apprentice to join the nations number one motoring organisation.

Overview

Our bespoke apprentice programmes have been custom designed to offer the support and coaching you need to develop the skills for success. It takes determination, desire and drive. In return, the rewards are extraordinary.

Over three years, you’ll complete an Apprenticeship ‘Motor vehicle service and maintenance technician (light vehicle)’ to Level 3 standard. From Year 4 you will have the opportunity to apply to join the Roadside Patrol team where you will continue your learning journey.

Start date:  Autumn 2018

During the first three years, you’ll attend week-long ‘block releases’ at the training academy in Bournemouth and attend monthly AA training and development sessions. Putting theory into practice, you’ll also work in a local garage to your home, and head out on patrol, carrying out basic repairs.

The time you spend away from home will be expenses paid, we’ll pay for your hotel, travel and meals while you’re there. Although you will have a strict budget to work to.

A keen interest and enthusiasm for automotive vehicles is essential as well as honesty and a willingness to learn. A positive attitude, confidence and a focus on delivering excellent customer service. An ability to be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as having the ability to work independently. Always strives to deliver excellent work and first time fixes.

Skills Required

As a minimum requirement you’ll need:

  • A driving license or be in the process of getting one
  • To be eligible to work in the UK
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in automotive mechanical engineering

Salary information

Year 1: £9,000
Year 2: £10,400
Year 3: £12,800             
Year 4: £30,000 on target earnings
Year 5: £33,000 on target earnings

Locations

Must be able to commutable to Bournemouth. You will attend monthly block release & you will be expected to attend classroom training in Bournemouth approx. once a month.
