We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our busy Central Rental Team based at our Head Office on the Birmingham Business Park, Birmingham. The Role The Central Rental team within Ryder UK is responsible for fulfilling our customer needs in respect of the timely allocation and provision of appropriate, clean and compliant rental vehicles together with supporting vehicle documentation, thereby enabling our customers to minimise their fleet downtime due to lack of vehicle availability. The team use their judgement to make decisions and take actions which maximise fleet productivity and minimise operational costs We have an opportunity for a motivated and conscientious Team Leader to join our Central Rental Team based in Birmingham Business Park. The Team Leader is responsible for the day to day supervision of the Central Rental team to ensure consistent standards of service delivery to include: 1. Providing first line support for all in-bound telephone and email queries and customer notifications 2. Accepting standard rental reservations; capturing all information necessary to fulfil a booking which meets the customer’s specific needs and undertaking all necessary activities to record the details of the booking on the Ryder Rental System. 3. Using judgement, escalate any non-standard or urgent reservation enquiries and complex queries for priority action and / or resolution Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Supervision of a team ensuring working hours are covered and monitor attendance * Monitor volumes, allocate workloads and prioritise key activities * Ensure the team have an understanding of customer SLA’s * Leadership and development of staff through coaching, training and motivation * Responding to inbound customer enquiries either via phone or by email within agreed time frames * Accepting standard rental reservations and capturing information to fulfil and record the booking on the Ryder Rental system * Opening of new accounts * Governance of all customer and supplier relationships. About You To be successful in this role, you must have team leader experience ideally gained in a contact centre environment as this is an extremely busy office. An understanding of rental whether it’s cars, vans or other equipment would be advantageous but is not essential. Good communications skills are required together with the ability to motivate and develop your team, so a ‘can do’ attitude is a must! Excellent IT skills along with good geographical knowledge of the UK are also required. Additional traits and skills we believe a successful Team Leader possesses are: * Proven telephone technique with the ability to demonstrate positive engagement with customers * Proven ability to seek out and identify appropriate solutions to resolve customer issues * Basic financial and commercial awareness as well as good organisational skills. * Integrity and trust * A drive for results with a customer focus to meet or exceed expectations * Able to engage, motivate and develop a team to meet or exceed their SLA’s Salary & Benefits Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 18:00 which equates to 40 hours a week.
