Project Management Specialist Location: Dorset Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 Our client, a market leader within the Defence Maritime industry, is looking for a Project Management Specialist to join their Project Planning Department. This company is dedicated to ensuring the safety of the world’s navies through the protection of the seas. They excel in collaboration and forming partnerships with their customers to guarantee the success of missions. Their advanced solutions cover a range of revolutionary technologies, such as cutting-edge sonar, radar, expendables, signature management, and naval power systems. Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of project plans and schedule analysis, encompassing time, cost, and resource considerations. * Compile comprehensive reports to provide the project manager and team with current and precise information. * Verify the accuracy and upkeep of project plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timely updates, and effective communication at all relevant levels. * Monitor project performance to guarantee accurate project data on a weekly and monthly basis. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the planning process. * Address and communicate issues to the pertinent stakeholders. * Conduct effective resource planning, assess project requirements, and proactively manage and resolve resourcing issues and conflicts. * Conduct regular reviews of planning and project control processes. * Apply and report Earned Value Management (EVM) and Critical Path Analysis (CPA). * Demonstrate understanding of risk and opportunity management and actively maintain these aspects. * Implement best practice tools and processes to enhance planning efficiency. * Provide support for bids and proposal planning. Requirements: * Proven experience in project planning, ideally within the aerospace and Defence industry. * Understanding of Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS – Product Breakdown Structure) * Advanced IT skills and proficient in the use of MSP and or equivalent planning tools Primavera P6 * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a team and lead cross-functional collaborations. * Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in aerospace and Defence. * Familiarity with project lifecycle management techniques * Risk, Earned Value Management and Critical Path awareness.
