Project Engineer - Manufacturing & Sustainability 2-Month Initial Contract (Potential for Renewal/s) Onsite - Gaydon (Occasionally in Solihull, Castle Bromwich & Halewood) £29ph (Inside IR35) Position Description: Lead Engineer - Stampings Sustainability The Stampings Sustainability Lead Engineer is responsible for leading sustainability transformation within Stampings Engineering through two beacon enterprise projects: 1. Creation and implementation/delivery of the decarbonisation roadmap for Client products and all UK stamping locations to achieve science-based targets 2030 and net zero 2039 external commitments. 2. Creation of new circular business opportunities to capture new revenue across the value chain leveraging open innovation and external partnerships. It is expected that this will be delivered through a number of strategic projects, each with their own targets. However, standard KPIs include - tCO2e reduction, measured against programme or plant targets. Material utilisation, recycling efficiency, energy consumption. All projects will be measured against standard cost, delivery, quality, safety and people KPIs. Role includes a degree of responsibility for leading Stampings related sustainability training, including running workshops to develop sustainability roadmaps. Skills Required: In-depth understanding of Circular Economy, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science Based Targets and Net Zero. Demonstrable understanding of Life Cycle Assessment approach and how this is used to measure CO2 impact and set targets. Cross-functional project management and delivery, with ability to communicate and report progress against targets and milestones. Experience Required: Experience of implementing sustainability improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting, ideally within Stamping Engineering and Operations. Significant experience in delivering cross-functional projects with a track record or working collaboratively cross-functionally and leading by influencing. Experience communicator, particularly when using data, to a wide range of audiences. Ability to tailor message to audience is essential. Strong MS Office skill set. Experience using Tableau would also be valuable. Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred in Materials, Sustainability or Engineering. Experience Preferred: Understanding of Design and Product Engineering limitations when it comes to Manufacturing feasibility. Understanding of Agile project management methodology and key programme timing milestones. Additional Information: Locations: Mostly Gaydon with travel required to Solihull, Castle Bromwich and occasionally Halewood
