Our global motorcycle manufacturing client is urgently looking to fill the following role: Programme Manager Motorcycle Accessories - £50-£60k p.a. +12.5% variable pay - Leicestershire Role: Our Motorcycle client is looking for a talented Programme Manager to work with cross-functional teams in Industrial Design, Product Development, Supplier Quality, Strategic Sourcing across the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories business unit. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to market on time, in full (OTIF), adhering to stage gate deliverables set out in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Previous experience in Project Management will give you a distinct advantage in eliminating possible timing issues before they arise internally or externally. You will be a strong, effective communicator and influencer ensuring all dependencies within the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories team (and outside) are completely understood & aligned when it comes to delivering an extensive range of products on time to meet the commercial business objectives. Key responsibilities: Planning the Programme - Plan the delivery of the overall product range delivery programme and its activities in accordance with the NPI process and specific objectives of the business unit - Maintain all product level timing plans in order to drive the cadence of the various projects and initiatives the business unit is working on - Support the development & acceptability of the function level detailed timing plans to ensure Deliverables and Milestones are known to all parties and being managed on a day to day basis - Support the individual functional areas within the business unit in producing and submitting annual budgets and operating plans Organise the Programme - Ensure that all programme activities operate within the policies and procedures as defined in the business management system of the wider organisation - Ensure all project related meetings are scheduled, attended, minuted, chaired, actioned and recorded in a centralised location - Ensure continuous stakeholder buy-in to the project both internally and externally of the business unit - Consistently provide clear and accurate project documentation while ensuring accurate project reporting to the wider business unit and senior management on a regular basis Leading the Programme - Apply project metrics and risk management principles to identify and mitigate potential schedule impacting items - Encourage and motivate project team members to accomplish assigned tasks within the deadlines set - Drive the overall progress of assigned projects towards completion through all functions, using good judgement in determining when to escalate issues to the wider business unit and senior management team - Understand interdependencies of, and, develop good relationships between the members of the cross functional project team - Leverage strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build a high performing team of indirect reports who are focused on delivery Controlling the Programme - Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities, working with the project team to determine the appropriate mitigation and contingency plans - Ensure the program business case is up to date and reflects the current objectives and ability to meet those objectives - Ensure change to product requirements and specification are proposed, approved and communicated in a timely manner, to all key stakeholders. - Continually monitor the program activities and take appropriate action to keep the project on plan Skills / Experience Required: Educational Qualifications - Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline. Minimum 2:1 degree required. Experience Level - Qualified to degree level with 5+ years relevant experience in a similar role - Formal Project Management training qualification (APMP, PRINCE2 or similar) preferred - Knowledge of Programme Management processes - Prior industry experience of motorcycle design and development process - Knowledge of Product Development processes - Extensive use of timing plans, spreadsheets and tracking documents The Programme Manager should also demonstrate the following attributes: - Understand ethical behaviour and business practices, and ensure that their own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the company - Determine strategies to move the project forward, set goals, create and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results - Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the project - Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques - Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organisational effectiveness - Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interests of the company - Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the company - Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and / or resolve the problem - The successful candidate may well be required, dependent on project demands, to spend up to 25% of their time working overseas.
