Title: Production Shift Lead - Manufacturing Location: Bury, Manchester Salary: £35k - £38k We are currently working with a leading manufacturer who is on the lookout for a Produciton Shift Manager based in Bury. General Overview The Shift Manager will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the Fabrication, Fit Out and Paint / Prep departments. The role of the Shift Manager is primarily responsible for the delivery of the production plan on time in full whilst ensuring a safe working environment in line with the relevant management systems. Delivery of these two primary objectives will be achieved through a lean manufacturing approach and will focus on the following areas to ensure continuous improvement in operational performance: * Safety & Environment * Quality * Cost * Delivery * People (engagement) Key Responsibilities Safety & Environmental performance and culture: * Ensure that all production methods and practices are safe and support the TOPx safety culture. * Ensure that all RAMS are suitable and sufficient, communicated and accessible. * With the safety department ensure that training is in place as identified within the RAMS. * Ensure the maintenance and calibration of equipment as appropriate. Quality: * Ensure quality standards are understood and products are built to standard. * Ensure that quality defects are captured and corrective actions put in place. * Work with the production engineering to enable builds from correct BOMs and drawings. Delivery: * Working with the Materials Manager ensure localised planning to achieve OTIF targets. Cost: * Control labour costs in-line with target build costs and budgeted constraints. * Maintain scrap below specified targets. * Ensure stock accuracy and recording at a local level. * Capture build times through the specified system. People: * Maintain a positive work environment, leading through example * Drive employee engagement at a bay level. * Support colleagues through regular pitstops and interventions if needed. In addition, the role will: * Develop internal relationships to leverage support and expertise from partner functions: * SHEQ, Design, Supply Chain, Finance * Support Kaizen projects to improve SQCDP metrics. * Ensure that activities are carried out in line with the relevant management system.
