PRODUCTION PLANNER - Permanent, Tamworth Do you have experience of working in a production planning role within a precision engineering environment? EMBS Engineering are working in partnership with a well known, highly reputable precision engineering specialist that designs and manufactures bespoke, detailed components for a number of high profile industry sectors. Due to increased demands from new and existing customers, our client is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their existing team of skilled individuals. This person will be responsible for planning components and material through the manufacturing processes, ensuring that delivery dates are created and achieved in order to provide OTIF delivery to the customer.  The successful individual will be experienced in working within a manufacturing, engineering environment that has been fast paced, where regular changes occur and therefore has the ability to adapt and identify solutions. In return the client is offering; 6 month contract or permanent position opportunites available Competitive salary - Negotiable depending on experience Hours: Standard 39 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays Some of the key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; Coordinate all aspects of the production schedule, enabling manufacturing to achieve production targets To support existing MP&L team and demonstrate new methods of approach Cooperate with suppliers regarding delivery of material and any lead time changes, and subsequently re-plan the production schedule accordingly if required Liaise with in house transport for the delivery and collection of sub contract operations Work with the production schedule, coordinate production work flow through each area to gain the best advantage of customer delivery and revenue return Produce engineering related documents and ensure routings / BOMs, drawings etc. are supplied to the machine shop / manufacturing departments in order for the production of parts to be completed.  Monitor the business system data through the MRP system to identify issues / bottlenecks which require action i.e. slow moving parts or errors Support stock taking activities with count sheets and data entry Communicate effectively with internal departments and work collaboratively with team members Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and ensure improvement procedures are put in place for future projects Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate: Previous Production Planning experience within an engineering / production environment Knowledge and exposure of working within businesses which manufacture engineered components into the Aerospace, Nuclear, Rail, Defence or Motorsport industry sectors Experience within organisations which possess CNC machining and assembly capabilities  Strong background in working within a fast paced, evolving and demanding environment Ability to use MRP, ERP and other WMS systems Computer literate with ability to use Excel to create reports using formulas, pivot tables, formatting etc Ability to think laterally, outside the box and react quickly to new changes High attention level to detail and work in a methodical, organised manner Strong working knowledge of OTIF and WIP reporting and processes Achievement of meeting / exceeding company or department targets  If you are looking for an opportunity to work for a leading precision engineering business that specialises in the manufacture of small to medium sized, complex, safety critical components for a number of market leading OEM's within Automotive & Defence, then please click to apply now or submit your most up to date CV to:  EMBS Engineering is a dedicated talent specialist that partners with some of the UK's most prestigious, advanced, precision engineering companies within the Aerospace, Automotive / Motorsport, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Green, Environmental and FMCG industries.
