I am looking on behalf of my client for an Operations or General Manager to run one of my client's flagship operations, based in Reading. This is not like any other retail role and this role will appeal to anyone who has worked with larger high performing teams working in the Automotive Service Sector. The location is an established and well performing location and currently employs around 30 staff, this team is managed by 3 or 4 department managers who will be your direct report and will support your growth and development of the team and you increase customer service levels and profitability. This exciting role will suit someone who has a keen eye for detail, has a growth mindset and also has the ability to listen to existing members of the team who have years of experience in this sector as you become an industry specialist yourself. As the overall manager you will have overall responsibility for the running of the depot and therefore you will need to have a good operating knowledge of P&L's, Budgeting, managing staff and developing your team from within. As this location is a flagship site attention to detail is also key and ensuring a high level of presentation and good clean standards are always exceeded as this location is often use for showcasing high profile clients and senior directors. The role is predominantly based on site although there may be the odd occasion for home working to plan strategy or for focus days. This role will suit someone who has or is looking for their next role withing management, who is firm but fair and who will encourage the support of the people around to reach the best possible goals for the business. If you have held a senior management position in Retail, FMCG, Supply Chain or any other corporate service or sales type role then we will welcome a conversation with you. What you'll need Experience managing a team Customer focused Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to prioritise work load and work under pressure to strict deadlines Demonstrate understanding and experience of managing Health and Safety practices at work Ability to understand and work with profit and loss accounts and budgets Capability to take ownership and responsibility Ability to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation PC literate General knowledge of the construction industry and trades including products.
