OUTSIDE IR35 Scope of Service: We are seeking an experienced Engineer - Powertrain Electronics Calibration on a contracting basis. Powertrain Engineering is responsible for the delivery of all client engine management and transmission software’s, electronics hardware and electronic calibrations.  The Engineer will be responsible for the calibration and validation of engine management parameters in order to meet the regulations and product enhancements that concern vehicle functions, OBD, sensors and actuators along with vehicle system interfaces for all markets worldwide. Key Deliverables:  Working on the above calibration work packages, either directly or via calibration partners, to time and quality within project frameworks Ensuring own and calibration partner delivery to VW Group standard calibration requirements Developing and maintaining their own and team’s technical capability Planning, monitoring and expediting test, validation and certification requirements for calibration activities to demonstrate that systems and calibrations are safe, legal and otherwise fit for purpose when introduced to production and during development testing Preparing and delivering technical presentations and prepare technical reports and documentation in line with process Key Skills & Experience:  Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive sector A high attention to detail in software experience (ETAS, INCA, MS Office etc) Experience of engine calibration control with Bosch MG1 or ME17 Knowledge and experience of calibrating OBD II functions Demonstrable understanding of the different OBD regulations and how to calibrate complex diagnostics, demonstrating that they detect faults, when present, and are robust to false detection Ability to give examples of diagnostic and calibration related problem investigation and resolution With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
