We are looking for an exceptional person to join us as Minibus Driver based at Blenham House Nursing Home in Edinburgh and covering the Lothian area. The role is for 30 hours, working 3 shifts per week. Ideally the successful candidate will hold a D1 driving qualification. Job Purpose To provide safe, enjoyable transport for residents To provide a flexible service to enhance activities outside the nursing home To ensure the minibus is in good repair and presents a well-cared for look, in keeping with the company image To uphold residents’ participation strategy To treat colleagues with respect and ensure teamwork is good Main Duties & Responsibilities MINIBUS To report major maintenance problems to the Director of Nursing Homes Operations and await instructions To keep records of servicing and legislative checks and diary these checks to ensure minibus is roadworthy To ensure quotes are received from recognised garage and agreement by superiors reached prior to authorisation being given To carry out general maintenance to the minibus so as to present a safe environment and good company image To attend to general cleanliness of the minibus To ensure that paintwork on minibus is at all times in good repair, both inside and outside To purchase materials for repairs from local suppliers To maintain company equipment to a safe and efficient level To keep company credit card secure, using it to purchase agreed items and to produce receipts for all goods purchased To fill in time sheets with Home staff signatures, and send to HO RESIDENT To ensure that residents are comfortable and safe to travel whether in minibus seats or wheelchairs To assist residents on and off the minibus, taking direction from Home staff on individual resident’s capabilities To communicate any changes to agreed programme to Home staff, using company mobile To use diary on minibus as a means of communicating with other drivers To maintain confidentiality over residents’ information It is expected that you will assist Home staff with activities as requested COMPANY To undertake any training required to fulfil minibus driver role, e.g. Moving & Handling of residents To reflect good company image by wearing uniform as stated in the RHG uniform policy
