Job Purpose: To carry out the airframe requirements of the PE1/PE2 servicing schedule, Modification Embodiment and unscheduled maintenance, TCTOs and SIs on RSAF Tornado aircraft. May be required to work outside normal trade boundary. Such working is subject to the requirements of the TPDMU Quality System. May be required to provide support to the RSAF away from TPDMU. Job accountabilities: 1. Aircraft Maintenance Carries out scheduled airframe maintenance on RSAF Tornado aircraft as detailed in the relevant PE1/PE2 servicing schedules, Modification Embodiment and unscheduled maintenance, TCTOs and SIs. This work includes but is not limited to: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, rectification, reassembly, adjustment, testing, fault diagnosis and minor structural repairs. Is responsible for the quality and completeness of the work he carries out, or signs for as having been carried out, on an aircraft or aircraft component. Provides estimated hours for TPDMU1s. Works within the requirements of the TPDMU Quality System and RSAF Technical Orders. Completes TPDMU forms, appropriate aircraft forms, records and maintenance documentation. Ensures maximum effort is made to safeguard the programme timescales in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. Provides on-the-job and theory training. Deputises, if required, for the supervisor. 2. Training and Certification Ensures his authorisations are current for the task in hand. Highlight to his immediate supervisor areas of inexperience or training requirements, for himself and others. 3. Quality Assurance and Control Complies with the requirements of the TPDMU Quality System and RSAF Technical Orders and publications. 4. Health and Safety Ensures Health and Safety / Duty of Care policies contained in the TPDMU H & S Policy manual are fully understood and adhered to. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Qualifications Essential Completion of recognised trade apprenticeship Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and an understanding of M&CA processes. Tornado aircraft maintenance course & Tornado flight line experience Completion of metal fabrication and structural repair course. Experience & Skills Essential Minimum of 6 years in trade speciality, with at least 2 years experience in Depth maintenance activities on Tornado IDS aircraft. Current UK/Saudi Driving Licence. Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Experience in airframe repair/fabrication techniques. Experience of RSAF documentation and procedures. Familiarity with PC use and Microsoft Office suite. WORK DIRECTION Tasked by his Supervisor. REPORT PREPARATION/PRESENTATIONS When deputising may be required to give verbal briefings to the aircraft team personnel or managers up to grade 4. EQUIPMENT A PC will be used on a daily basis to check aircraft spares progression and availability. Standard hand/power tools plus specialist equipment specific to Tornado aircraft.
