Manufacturing Engineer - Desford, Leicestershire - Up to £32/hr - Inside IR35 - 18 month initial contract A Manufacturing Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines. Fantastic opportunity to work on large scale, technically challenging manufacturing projects where a technology uplift is required. In your first few weeks in this Manufacturing Engineer role, you can expect to: Identify and implement enhancements and modifications to complex manufacturing operations equipment and processes Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues, including ergonomic/safety, quality concerns and efficiency improvements Work with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects to ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products Design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation, and systems application Coordinate the purchase and application of tools, controls, and related equipment and ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and economy of operations To apply for this Manufacturing Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include: Technical or university degree in an appropriate manufacturing or engineering related field, or equivalent experience. Facility Transformation – Targeted manufacturing assembly improvements to target volume uplift. AGV Fleet management experience is highly desirable. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations, technology development and facility planning. Demonstrated project management skills or contribution to delivery of complex projects both through technology or scale. Problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to bring problems to a successful resolution. Communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
