The Role Due to a recent restructure within Ryder, we have a new opportunity for a Lead Service Attendant/HGV Driver (VSA) to join our team based in Burton. The role of the Lead Vehicle Service Attendant is to ensure that trucks are collected and delivered to the clients on time. Additionally, you will prepare the rental vehicles for the clients by cleaning and valeting them and you will make sure that vehicle related documentation is prepared. As a Lead VSA, you will perform vehicle driving duties including collection and delivery and take vehicles for MOT tests. Additionally, you will have a chance to carry out pre-MOT tests and "ten point checks" tests. This would be an ideal role for a Class 1 driver who would like to make the transition from being 100% on the road to a more depot based one but who has perhaps gained experience of leading a team. You will be working a rotating day shift as follows: 07.00 – 16.30 / 08.30 – 18.00 Monday to Friday. This will be a 45 hour week. Other duties will include: * Perform vehicle driving duties including collection and delivery and take vehicles for MOT tests * Adhere to all Company Health and Safety and Security Policies at all times * Preparation of rental vehicles by cleaning and valeting * Refuelling of vehicles and the checking of Ad blue levels * Preparing vehicle-related documentation * Washing of vehicles when required * Develop and maintain high levels of customer service by being courteous and providing first class service to customers and drivers when visiting About You To be successful in this role you need to be proactive and passionate about what you do. You will need to be IT literate as most of our work is completed on a tablet. As the role also involves valeting HGV’s, it would be beneficial if you have previous experience of this although training will be given.
