Remit are recruiting on behalf of IVECO Retail, they have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice HGV Repair Technician to join their experienced team.
This exciting opportunity will help you to gain new skills and knowledge whilst in the workplace. IVECO Retail carry out all repairs on their vehicles regardless of the fault, therefore you will gain experience and skills in all aspects of Heavy Vehicle repairs. You will receive excellent training based at our Remit Automotive Academy to further develop your new skills and knowledge to the next level.

As well as gaining new skills and knowledge you will also benefit from many company incentives at IVECO Retail, these include self-enrolment on to Web/tutorial-based courses and access to submit learning requests to those instructor led courses held at IVECO UK head office throughout each year. Every employee is automatically enrolled on to the Online Interactive Training Platform giving employees the opportunity to take ownership of their own individual training and development.

Additionally, after your apprenticeship and a further 1 year working at IVECO Retail you will be awarded £10,000 for your commitment to the apprenticeship and loyalty to IVECO Retail.

The role of a Heavy Vehicle Technician falls into three main responsibilities:
• Servicing – working to guidelines to ensure a vehicle is running at optimum performance.
• Maintenance – replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail.
• Repair – diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem.

The techniques and daily responsibilities you will learn will include:
• Using diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate vehicle faults and identify their underlying causes.
• Inspecting and preparing customers vehicles ready for mechanical work.
• Removing, repairing or replacing components to the correct specification.
• Contributing to a safe working environment by working within Health and Safety processes.

No formal skills are required as we will provide all the training needed for the role, just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
There are no entry requirements to apply, we will support you to develop your skills in English and Maths.
This is a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard, delivered by Remit Group. Training is delivered in the workplace and by block release at the Remit Automotive Academy in Derby. When you are attending your blocks in Derby you will be staying in a 4 star hotel for 15 separate weeks (Mon – Fri) over the duration of the 3 year programme. Historically block release has delivered better success rates and quality of training so you can be confident you will be receiving the best training possible. Here’s a couple of links introducing our Academy and the hotel you would be staying at & All associated costs for training are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you. You will also be assigned a dedicated Development Coach who will hold regular training meetings with you giving 1-2-1 information, advice and guidance, you will also have access to our online training portal which has a wealth of training materials to help you with your qualification

On successful completion of your Level 3 apprenticeship along with functional skills in Maths and English (where required) you will be a fully qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician with the skills to continue your career in the industry.
