Health and Safety Advisor - 6 month contract - Glasgow -£45,000 Join our world leading Aviation client as a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor, responsible for creating, implementing, and updating comprehensive job safety programs that align with health and safety regulations and company standards. This pivotal role involves training employees on the significance of health and safety practices in the workplace. Shift Mon - Fri Role 37.5 Hrs per week Duration: 6 months Start date: End of February. Key Responsibilities: Development of H&S Manual: Spearheading the creation and refinement of the Health and Safety manual. Risk Assessments: Conducting initial Risk Assessments to establish a standardized format. Analytical Reporting: Generating analytical reports based on safety data. Fire Safety Oversight: Maintaining fire safety policies and procedures. Equipment Inspection: Inspecting production equipment and processes to ensure safety compliance. Contractor Coordination: Coordinating external contractors' activities and ensuring statutory documentation is up-to-date. Safety Visits: Coordinating safety visits and action plans from external H&S consultants and Fire risk assessors. Preventive Focus: Emphasizing prevention through regular equipment maintenance and employee training. T raining Sessions: Presenting safety principles in staff meetings or lecture-type training sessions. Continuing Education: Participating in ongoing education to stay updated on health and safety protocols and techniques. Product Safety Assessment: Determining the safety of the finished product for customers. Safety Plans: Developing safety plans with suggestions for infrastructure and process improvements. Information Sharing: Sharing safety information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to maintain consistency in safety standards. Goal Achievement: Working towards and achieving company health and safety goals. Accident Investigation: Investigating causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site. Compliance Oversight: Reviewing and reporting on staff compliance with health and safety rules, recommending commendations or dismissals based on performance. Skills and Qualifications: NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification in occupational safety and health. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and engagement skills. Strong knowledge and practical application of Safety, Health & Welfare. Proficient in computer skills, including Excel. Proactive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Engineering background. Attention to detail.
