Carbon60 are currently working in partnership wit one of the UK's leading aviation MRO companies based at Birmingham airport to recruit an experience Head Of Safety & Compliance on a permanent basis. The role will involve ensuring that all planned and ad-hoc maintenance activities meet the defined regulatory standards and company procedures. This will be achieved by leading and managing the Health and Safety team responsible for the quality, compliance and safety for the site. This will be a full time on site role working 40 hours per week. Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with UK CAA, EASA and NAA Part 145 & remain aware of any changes to regulations Establish programme of training & continuation training using internal and/or external sources. Interfacing with & maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities on quality, compliance, safety management, assurance & regulatory approval issues that relate to airworthiness requirements. Ensure continuous improvement skills & behaviours are built into the working environment Production, implementation and accomplishment of the Part 145 audit programme. Defining the human factors principles to be implemented within the organisation. Ensure Safety and Compliance Audits as prescribed by the Audit Plan are completed Carry out unplanned Quality audits as and when requested by the Accountable Manager Report any findings or concerns to the Accountable Manager. Ensure the adequate and appropriate closure of audit findings with respect to root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions within the timescales as identified. Management of the Part 145 certifying staff authorisation system. Compile submissions for MOE revisions as required. This is to include but not limited to Form 2 submissions. Management of the Documentation Control system Management and welfare of relevant staff working in the Part 145 environment Ensure that the Part 145 Department complies with Customer Quality Requirements. Management and oversight of the SMS Programme within Civil Operations Representing the CAA, EASA and NAA as their defined Desk OfficerSkills and Experience: Detailed knowledge of Part 145 and its practical application. Ability to hold Nominated Post Holder position. Demonstrable leadership characteristics and detailed awareness of business culture, team player able to engage and motivate people at all levels but within the organisation and externally. High level of competency in verbal, written and presentational communications.Experienced and competent Investigator. Received formal aviation technical training. Previous auditor experience in an aviation environment. Eligible to qualify for and hold UK airside security passes, as per DFT regulations. Full, clean UK Driving License. Previous experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
