Job Title: Graduate Flight Sciences Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: Negotiable About the Company: Aeropeople have partnered with a privately-held Aerospace OEM company who are now looking to hire a Graduate Flight Sciences Engineer to be based at their site in Bedford. The company has a range of proprietary designs (patents & IP) which provide Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) solutions for both the commercial and defence markets, with its current major focus on a long endurance surveillance aircraft (optionally manned) and a heavy lift logistics aircraft capable of lifting 50-tonnes. The successful candidate will be embedded within the Flight Sciences and Simulations (FS&S) team and will play a pivotal role in the design and testing of a new class of aircraft and the development of the tools necessary to prove the performance and flight capability of the design. The role will be varied and hands-on and there will be an opportunity to develop as an all-round aerospace engineer whilst making vital contributions to the activities of a busy product development team. Job Description: The Graduate Flight Sciences Engineer will be expected to support a wide range of activities within the Flight Science & Simulation team, including: * Analysis of wind tunnel and flight test data and test reporting. * Modelling and simulation of the aircraft and/ or aircraft systems to inform the wider Engineering team. * Using theory and engineering tools to analyse aerodynamic performance due to design changes. * Development of the flight trainer facility. A minimum of 6 months post qualifying experience in an aerospace workplace. * An excellent knowledge of the fundamentals of flight. * Highly computer literate with a high standard of written and spoken English. * Strong mathematical and analytical skills. * Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). * Ability to prepare technical documentation, including test plans, reports. * Ability to liaise with other technical systems design groups with the Company. * Familiarity with using Matlab/Simulink, or with CAD design tools would be advantageous but not essential. * You will be a self-disciplined team player with proactive work ethic and flexible approach. * You will be keen to contribute to the quality, safety and integrity of the aircraft and enjoy working as part of a highly-dedicated and motivated team.
