This role is part of the Safran UK team, and reports into the National Executive for Safran in the UK. The role is to develop the engagement with different government departments as well government/ industry organisations, to support the group strategy and to represent the group inputs into consultations to promote the values of the Safran group in the UK. Required Skills & Experience: • Clear and concise communication style. • Experience in designing and delivering successful lobbying campaigns. • Experience in a public affairs role at a national level • Understanding and experience of the working in a complex policy landscape • Ability to bring together a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support campaign activity. • Proven track record with campaign strategy development and delivery in a multi stakeholder environment • Management experience beneficial, but not necessary • Leadership and influencing skills Key activities / Responsibilities / Objectives • Working with the UK National Executive office and the Safran UK Managing Directors to develop and deliver a public affairs program to enhance the profile and image of Safran in the UK as well as globally with Ministers, MPs, advisers, officials and other influencers. • Review policy developments across aerospace, defense, security and space, overseeing engagement with government officials and other industry stakeholders. • Bring together colleagues from across Safran companies to develop and deliver inputs to campaigns from other organizations such as CBI, ADS, AGP etc. to influence key policy priorities. • Advise and brief others ahead of political meetings. • Manage political attendance at major industry events including the biennial Farnborough International Airshow, DSEI, annual dinners, etc. • Represent Safran UK on External Affairs Boards, which advises on policy development and lobbying campaigns, and ensure effective communication with the UK Managing Directors network. The Person Key competencies required to carry out the role competently effectively: • Strategically minded: Able to structure insights and evidence into compelling narrative for how to realise a business opportunity or overcome a business challenge • Market knowledge: Understanding of the UK political framework and workings of government • Commercially minded: Able to work with the UK National Executive office to build, assess and develop business cases and financial profiles including innovative approaches • Creative: Able to innovate and to instigate and assess new ideas • Organised: Able to coordinate and drive people to a common goal to meet deadlines required • Communicator: Present outputs with clarity and credibility through written and verbal presentations Work Experience: • Successful track record in a similar capacity or demonstrable success in delivering government engagement • Experience of stakeholder engagement • A professional, team-oriented, relationship-oriented approach to managing successful, long-term stakeholders' engagements Education/Certification: • Degree level qualification in any discipline or equivalent – essential • French speaking an advantage
