Furnace Operative Aerospace £33,471 plus extensive benefits package and overtime availability An international manufacturer of critical parts to aerospace customers is looking to secure the services of a first-class Furnace Operative with the ability to run press operations. It is expected that you will have experience of working within process driven manufacturing environments where quality is paramount, and standards are high. An overview of the duties and responsibilities will include, * Vacuum heat treat, and Air furnace components to customer specification. * To be able to operate the process bay safety clean /degrease lines across all product ranges. * To be able to set & operate press shop equipment including 150-ton power press and Hydraulic press/drop head press. * Work to Routing instructions, Technique Sheets and Standard Operations Procedures (SOP’s). * To have the ability to understand and interpret Customer Specifications and Technical drawings. * To ensure all operations are completed conforming to route card requirements and logged correctly in accordance with NADCAP requirements. * To highlight/report any non-conforming parts through Hotspot process. * Ownership of AM checks and ensuring all calibration checks are completed when planned. Position requirement, * Experience working in Aerospace industry with knowledge of AS9100 requirements. * Power press certificate. * At least 2 years’ experience in similar industry (preferably Aerospace) – essential. * Experience of running aerospace Vac/Air furnaces – essential. * Experience in press shop including drop press/150 press/Hydraulic press. * Good interpersonal skills, particularly team working. * Excellent time management and organisational skills. * Ability to work under own initiative. * High self-motivation and determination to succeed. * Good literacy and numeracy
