Job Description The role holder will be responsible for the tactical management of the fleet of aircraft at RAF Leeming, including but not limited to management of aircraft into Base Maintenance, management of life limited parts plans, managing short term forecasts, maintenance tasking, and maintenance verification. The Tactical Fleet Planner will also be responsible to the Fleet Management Lead for the delivery of Fleet Planning capability. Core Duties * Performance indicators – Ensure the effective provision of Tactical Fleet Planning activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance. * Completion of activities – Ensure all Tactical Fleet Planning activities are appropriately carried out and documented on relevant systems. Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. * Procedure/standards – Comply with the MAI CAME, its associated procedures and standards and any other Company procedures and standards. * Safety Management System – Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Tactical Fleet Planning activities. Understand the risks associated with Tactical Fleet Planning and the means by which they are mitigated and managed. * Management System Assurance – Ensure Tactical Fleet Planning activities are compliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, including supporting Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits. * Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. * Contractual Requirements – Ensure compliance with applicable contractual requirements, e.g. through support to contract reviews and the incorporation of required changes into the Tactical Fleet Planning processes. Deliverables Create and manage an integrated Tactical Fleet Plan based off the Strategic Fleet Plan, life limited parts plans, major OOP tasks, and other factors Create and manage a short term forecast by tail number, working closely with the Part 145 to ensure all tasking is carried out as directed. Provide daily oversight on the fleet’s flying performance, defining flying priorities and sustainable hours for each tail number to manage aircraft into their next maintenance events Develop and maintain associated on aircraft work package(s) including the technical instructions, resource and materiel requirements for the individual maintenance activity Compile, manage, and agree with the Statement of Work for any on aircraft planned maintenance event Undertake the planning of additional and emergent work during maintenance, to ensure work load is managed effectively against schedule requirements. Review and report on the effectiveness of maintenance task performance in Line and Base. Manage elements of the SoW, Pre-Input and Post-Output Review Meeting (PIRM & PORM) processes, maintenance task performance and additional / emergent work requirements. Experience Experience of Part M and Part 145 activities within a Maintenance & Support environment Direct experience of fleet planning, maintenance planning & tasking, demand management and aircraft scheduling. Understanding of Safety and Quality Management Understands the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to the Maintenance Tasking and Verification processes and activities. Have operational knowledge and understanding of the platform contract(s), the fleet’s performance and the business key performance metrics. Demonstrate an understanding of Reliability Programmes and the impact of their findings on the Operator Maintenance Programme. Qualifications * Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant Technical discipline. * Good to strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience, with Lean management principles. * Effective, credible communicator with good interpersonal skills. * Requires product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas. * Able to analyse and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail. * Comprehensive understanding of current IT software packages used within the Fleet Planning and Maintenance Tasking & Verification disciplines. * Understanding of Project Management techniques. * Able to build good relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisation(s) , OEMs, Suppliers and other key stakeholders’ personnel.. * IT Literate.
