Location: Basingstoke minimum 2 days a week Full time, 12month FTC Salary:Competitive This is the job As the Finance Manager - Driving Schools you will be responsible for the financial management of the Driving Schools P&L (£22m in Revenue) and balance sheet – including the delivery of trading results, reporting, forecasting, pricing proposals and decision support (e.g. vehicle leasing) and customer profitability analysis. What will I be doing? You will be working alongside the Driving School senior management team, and reporting to the Director of Finance, Roadside, you will be: * Responsible for maintaining and continually enhancing the forecast models for Driving Schools, complete with costs, revenue and KPIs, and use these for producing forecasting, business cases and sensitivity analysis. * Providing detailed and accurate price and cost modelling to assist in setting instructor franchise fees * Providing strategic and commercial recommendations to the Driving Schools Managing Director and their Leadership team * Working closely with the Fleet team to gain detailed understanding of the vehicle costs, with a view of reducing costs, improving PBT and enhancing forecasting * Support the business in reviewing the proposition and lifetime value of the Driver Instructor Training (DIT) offering. * Providing decision support to Senior Managers / Directors and business teams * Understanding and regularly assessing Instructor profitability. Implement continuous improvements to the customer profitability models to enhance understanding of pricing, cost and performance. * Updating and reviewing where applicable three-year value models to ensure that investment decisions are based on accurate and up to date product performance * Proactively assessing and challenging performance to provide financial insight to optimise performance and investment decisions * Key member of the Driving Schools management team with detailed product and operational knowledge * Providing support and guidance to the newly established technology team, agreeing what finance support is required with that team * Responsibility for monthly management accounting, consolidation, forecasting and budgeting (BAU plus continuous development to improve speed, accuracy & insight) Improving financial performance by providing insightful analysis on (but not limited to): sales campaigns, marketing spend, customer pricing and profitability * Owning and driving improvements in the financial control environment including the integrity of financial processes, balance sheet and cash flow management Support the Driving School Tech team with validation and explanations required for system development involving revenue or costs.
