Farm Mechanic Vacancy Reference: 16589 KM The Company: A family run farming business. The Job Role: A farming business is currently looking to hire someone to join our team as a Farm Mechanic looking after our fleet of farm vehicles and machinery. Our farm fleet includes tractors, combines, harvesters, sprayers, trailers, JCB telehandlers, forklifts, ATVs, UTVs, 360-excavators, minibuses and cars along with other equipment and implements relating to the farm. The role is extremely varied, and no two days are the same. A full-time position, 39 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Location: Herefordshire Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 + Work Van (required to stay on premises overnight) + Shared Accommodation Available. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose faults and repair farm machinery and equipment where necessary. Attending machinery breakdowns. Schedule and carry out servicing and routine maintenance (including MOT preparation) on all machinery, vehicles and tractors. Record keeping of all work/maintenance. Management of work priorities. Procurement of spare parts/components from the most cost-effective source. Assisting with farm duties at busy times of the year. Compliance with HSE requirements. Candidate Requirements: Previous experience in a mechanical role on a broad range of vehicles and machinery (essential). Ideally having had experience working on heavy plant or agricultural machinery (preferred but not essential). Ability to diagnose faults. Excellent problem-solving. Ability to manage own workload. Pro-active and can-do attitude. Ability to work as part of a team. Good communication skills. Welding experience. Full driving licence. Experience driving farm machinery and forklifts would be advantageous. Any relevant qualifications and certificates to the above role would be beneficial.
