Safran Seats currently have a range of new apprenticeship opportunities available across our Engineering and Manufacturing functions and are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic applicants to join our apprenticeship schemes in Cwmbran. Current opportunities available: Electrical or Mechanical Design Engineering Degree Apprenticeship The degree apprenticeship scheme involves learners splitting their time between University study and the workplace ; typically 1-2 days/week at university and 3 days/week onsite in Cwmbran. It enables students to have real workplace experience and earn a salary, whilst simultaneously gaining a full bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. This combination of work and study is a fantastic way to gain the experience and knowledge necessary to succeed and develop in the workplace. To start this programme, you must have completed an NVQ level 3 in Engineering or ‘A’ levels including Mathematics, English and one Science principle or Engineering. Manufacturing Engineering Higher Apprenticeship Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice, you will gain experience in the various arms of manufacturing and problem solving engineering that comes together to deliver value to our customers. This includes understanding and taking customers’ requirements, then engineering a product to meet those requirements. The scheme will also give you the opportunity to work cross functionally to understand how designing, manufacturing and engineering a product impacts other functions (manufacturing, production, supply chain etc.) and vice versa. Over a four-year full time programme you will benefit from personal development and technical training that will help you to build a successful career. In your first year you will be placed with a local college where you will have the opportunity to acquire work based learning qualifications and also a relevant knowledge based qualification. In the second/third/fourth year you will be based 90% at the work place where you will work towards gaining a Higher Apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering. To start this programme, you should ideally have five GCSE’s at grade C or above which must include Mathematics, English and one Science principle.
