Our clients come to us with a wide range of challenging projects which typically include aspects of mechanical design, electrical design and software development. To meet increased demand within the UK and abroad the company is growing and looking to recruit a talented and highly motivated engineer. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work on all aspects of exciting, fast-paced projects, gaining valuable experience in a wide range of engineering areas. This role will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously within small teams to design, manufacture and commission bespoke test equipment. Job description This is a multi-disciplined, diverse role, which drawing on your areas of specialism could include (but is not limited to): * End to end involvement in projects from costing to commissioning. * The design of instrumentation and control systems. * Identification and selection of electrical equipment. * Solving electrical design challenges. * Hands on system testing and debugging. * Working on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team. Candidate requirements Minimum: * Good understanding of electrical engineering * HNC/HND qualification and substantial work experience in electrical design. * Experienced user of EPLAN or SolidWorks Electrical. * An effective communicator. * A keen interest in electrical design, machinery safety, instrumentation and control. * Be highly motivated to learn and keen apply their knowledge to new areas. * Have a good working knowledge of the low voltage directive or machinery directive. * Have good practical skills * The ability to see projects through from conception to completion. Desired: * PLC programming or LabVIEW * Knowledge of DSEAR regulations and electrical systems for hazardous areas. * Project management skills to ensure projects run smoothly and on time. * Experience of designing and working with safety systems.
