Drawing Checker *Contract based in Oxford *£33/ph - £37/ph Are you a Drawing Checker looking for your next exciting position? We've got a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established automotive/motorsport company based in Oxford. Currently looking to find a proactive and experienced Drawing Checker to work on various projects of differing sizes with the primary role of checking drawings & designs prior to release. As an effective Drawing Checker, you will have the following responsibilities/duties: Primary responsibility for developing drawing standards and checking component and assembly drawings prior to manufacture. Additional duties as a Design Engineer taking a range of designs from initial concepts through to volume production. This will involve working closely with a range of customers from SMB's to major OEM's to deliver engineered solutions within, weight, cost and timing targets. * Reporting into the Chief Designer, your primary responsibility will be to develop company drawing standards and to check component and assembly drawings prior to release. * Component design and detailing using Siemens NX, CATIA V5 and Teamcenter. * In conjunction with the project Technical Lead deliver design solutions that fulfil customer requirements within budget and strict deadlines * Work closely with process, purchasing and production departments to ensure cost and manufacturing capability is built into the project design, particularly with reference to quality and build parameters. * Generate and present project material to customers and key internal and external stakeholders. * Assist in the generation and implementation of Design Office procedures & guidelines. * To attend component tests as required. * Problem solving and fault rectification. Skill required for the Drawing Checker role include: * A Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport or Aerospace engineering. * Experience of drawing checking and mechanical design in the aerospace, specialist automotive or motorsport industry or be able to show that your experience is transferable. * CAD literacy in Siemens NX and TeamCentre preferred. * Working knowledge of CATIA V5 would be an advantage. * Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. * Ability to use your initiative and respond quickly to problems. * Ability to manage your own workload and projects. * Ability to maintain high standards of staff and department presentation, as appropriate for a facility visited by potential customers and other VIP's.
