We are currently seeking a dedicated Customer Service and Transport Support Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of customer service. Job Description: Role Overview: As a Customer Service and Transport Support Assistant, you will play a key role in handling customer interactions and supporting our transport department. Your responsibilities will include managing customer orders, assisting with transport logistics, and ensuring excellent customer service across various communication channels. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Answer customer service telephone lines, ensuring adequate cover during busy periods such as lunch breaks, holidays, and sickness. Order Processing: Take customer orders via phone, fax, and email, and accurately enter them into the company’s Sage Line 500 system in a timely manner. Transport Support: Assist the transport department by recording deliveries to customers on our automated ORTEC transport planning system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Enquiry Handling: Respond to customer enquiries, or direct them to the appropriate department, providing accurate information, resolving issues, and managing complaints effectively. Workload Balancing: Support the department during periods of high volume or when colleagues are absent due to holidays or sickness, ensuring smooth operations. Reporting: Generate ad-hoc reports as required by senior department heads.Additional Responsibilities: Perform any reasonable duties as identified by your line manager or team leader. Positively represent the company to customers and suppliers. Ensure compliance with all contractual employment obligations and ISO standards. Participate fully in the company’s performance management and development programmes. Maximize your ability to produce quality work on time, using your best skills and available technology. Adhere to the company’s Human Resources policies and procedures. Comply with all health and safety requirements.Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role is preferred. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail. IT Skills: Proficiency in using Sage Line 500 and ORTEC systems is advantageous, though training will be provided. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively. Teamwork: A collaborative attitude, with the ability to work well within a team and support colleagues during busy periods.Benefits: Competitive salary of £28,500 per annum.
