Assist the Service team in the smooth running of the front desk operations. To ensure the requirements of both external customers and work colleagues are met in a timely and cost effective manner. · Work to ensure the full operating times of the front desk are covered. · Liaise with customers to ensure servicing and maintenance is programmed and booked in a timely manner. To meet customer satisfaction whilst ensuring workshop resources are matched. · Input maintenance details on all computerised management and control systems including Connect and DAF Check in a timely and accurate manner. To produce work instruction packages for technicians, comprising of both job sheets and inspection record sheets and where appropriate, liaise with the Parts Department to ensure service items are readily available to technicians so as to minimise workshop and customer downtime. · When required and as directed by the General Manager, to assist in maximising workflow through both the existing customer base and the identification and communication with additional prospective customers. ·Ensure authorisation is obtained from the customers to carry out work and where necessary supply estimates. To have the ability to explain technical information in layman’s terms to the customer.. ·Assist in the booking of MOT’s through the computerised diary and booking system so as to ensure the throughput is maximised without exceeding resource limits. To assist in contacting customers prior to MOT’s to confirm booking and attendance. . · Follow company procedures in place and DAF manufacturer requirements. · Complete DAF training as required. · Work as a team with colleagues to achieve customer requirements and to assist in evolving business improvements.
