The Role Further to our recent review of our flagship Used Vehicle Sales site on the A38 we have now created and have a requirement for a commercially focused Workshop Manager to come and join us and lead the team (c20 employees) that are based at Burton. The workshop operations at Burton service and repair our out of service vehicles before they proceed for sale. You’ll be an individual with a strong track record in fleet maintenance/workshop management and proven leadership skills. You along with 2 shift supervisors and a yard supervisor will lead the team to work in a cohesive manner to ensure they keep focused on health & safety, cost control and achieving maintenance standards. About You Key to the success of this role will be the ability to bring excellent technical knowledge from the automotive industry, ideally within Commercial Vehicles/HGV/VMU, which will allow you to challenge your technicians and supervisors to ensure works carried out to the fleet are relevant, timely and realistic and your rental teams are operating a customer centric and profitable business. The successful Commercial Used Vehicle Sales/Workshop Manager will evidence the following: * An in depth knowledge of the commercial vehicle maintenance from a management/supervisor position, and hands on practical experience is essential * Excellent mechanical knowledge, ideally evidenced with formal qualifications, such as C&G Level 3 HGV Maintenance & Repair or equivalent * Proven outstanding operational delivery evidenced by over achievement against target metrics * Delivers class leading health & safety for everyone on site * Track record in getting the very best out of their teams * Current experience of managing and developing employees * A demonstrable track record of P&L responsibility * Passion for delivering the very best in customer service * Proven stakeholder management skills at all levels * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication skills Salary & Benefits A salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience is on offer along with a great benefits package as per below: * Company car or allowance * Performance related bonus * Industry leading pension scheme matching up to 6% of your salary * Private health care and travel insurance * Life Assurance (3x basic salary) * Group Income Protection Insurance (available after 2 years of service) * Holiday allowance (starting at 25 days, increasing up to 28 days based on length of service plus bank holidays) * Access to Perkbox which offers a wide variety of discounts across the high street and online retailers, cinemas, restaurants etc. * Eyecare Vouchers * 24/7 GP Service About Us At Ryder, we believe in investing in our people and the future of the commercial transportation industry.
